Interstate Group Pty Ltd Privacy Policy

Interstate Group Pty Ltd (ABN 99 642 973 804) (Interstate, we, us or our) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, hold, use, disclose, secure, and otherwise manage personal information, including when you visit gointerstate.com.au, contact us, use our services, or enter into a contract with us.

Personal information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • identity and contact details, such as your name, email address, telephone number, postal address, and company details;
  • enquiry and service details, including your selected enquiry category, message, product interests, and communications with us;
  • contract, order, billing, and payment-related information needed to provide products or services, issue invoices, and manage accounts;
  • website and technical information, such as IP address, browser and device information, approximate location, cookie and online identifiers, pages and links viewed, referring website or campaign, and interactions with the website; and
  • records created when we provide support, manage a sales enquiry, prevent fraud, secure our systems, or meet legal obligations.

Please do not include sensitive information in an enquiry unless it is reasonably necessary for us to assist you. We do not intentionally send contact-form message text or sensitive information to Google Analytics or advertising platforms.

How we collect personal information

We generally collect personal information directly from you when you submit a form, contact us, request support, enter into an agreement, or otherwise deal with us. We may also receive information from authorised representatives, service providers, advertising or referral partners, publicly available sources, and technologies used on our website.

If you provide personal information about another person, you should have authority to do so and make them aware of this policy where appropriate.

Website analytics, cookies and advertising technologies

We and our service providers may use cookies, tags, pixels, local browser storage, log files, and similar technologies for website operation, analytics, conversion measurement, fraud and security, advertising effectiveness and, where enabled, personalised advertising.

These technologies may collect website and technical information and may link it with information held by a provider. Our providers may include Google Analytics and Google Ads, Meta, Microsoft Clarity, Pinterest, and X. We review provider configuration and seek to limit event data to what is reasonably necessary for the stated purpose.

Sales-enquiry conversion measurement

When a contact form is submitted with the category Sales and the website confirms successful receipt, we may record a lead event for analytics and advertising measurement. We use the direct Google Ads contact-form conversion as our primary advertising conversion and do not use the Google Analytics lead event as a duplicate primary conversion.

If enhanced conversion measurement is enabled, the email address supplied with a verified Sales enquiry may be normalised and securely hashed before it is used by Google Ads to improve conversion matching. The email address is not used as a Google Analytics event parameter. We do not use your phone number, name, or postal address for this enhanced conversion configuration.

When available, campaign parameters, advertising click identifiers, the original landing page, referrer, and a non-identifying lead reference may be retained for the current browser session and attached to a submitted Sales enquiry. This information helps us reconcile the enquiry across Freshdesk, Pipedrive, and advertising reports. It is not sent as a Google Analytics event parameter by this form.

How we use personal information

We may use personal information to:

  • respond to enquiries and provide sales or customer support;
  • provide, administer, and improve our products and services;
  • manage contracts, orders, billing, payments, and accounts;
  • operate, maintain, improve, and secure our website and systems;
  • understand website use, improve content and customer journeys, and measure enquiries and campaign performance;
  • attribute advertising, reduce duplicate measurement, and improve our marketing;
  • prevent or investigate fraud, misuse, and security incidents;
  • communicate with you and manage your preferences; and
  • comply with legal obligations and protect our legal rights.

Disclosure and overseas handling

We may disclose relevant personal information to our related entities, professional advisers, and service providers that support analytics, advertising, customer relationship management, customer support, communications, payment processing, hosting, security, and website operations. These providers may include Google, Meta, Microsoft, Pinterest, X, Pipedrive, Freshdesk, Stripe, and Cloudflare, depending on the service involved.

Some providers may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other locations in which they or their subprocessors operate. We take reasonable steps appropriate to the service and information involved, including reviewing provider terms, configuration, security, and data-minimisation controls.

We may also disclose personal information where required or authorised by law, in response to lawful requests, or where reasonably necessary to protect our rights, users, personnel, or systems.

Direct marketing and your choices

Where permitted, we may use personal information to send or display information about products and services that may interest you. You may ask us to stop direct marketing at any time by using an unsubscribe facility or contacting us. We will action your request as required by applicable law.

You may use browser controls to block or delete cookies and provider controls to limit analytics or personalised advertising. Relevant controls include:

Blocking these technologies may affect website features or measurement. At present, our website may not respond to browser Do Not Track signals in a consistent way because there is no common industry standard for interpreting them.

Retention and security

We set Google Analytics event-level retention to 14 months. Other records, including contact, support, sales, billing, advertising, and security records, are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for their operational, legal, accounting, security, and dispute resolution purposes.

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. These steps may include access controls, data minimisation, provider and configuration reviews, security controls, and incident procedures. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Access, correction and complaints

You may contact our Privacy Officer to ask about personal information we hold about you, request access or correction, make a privacy complaint, or request an available advertising opt-out, suppression, or deletion action. We may need to verify your identity and may refuse or limit a request where permitted or required by law. If we do so, we will explain our decision where required.

We will acknowledge and investigate privacy complaints within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner .

We may update this policy to reflect changes to our practices, technologies, providers, or legal obligations. The effective date shown on this page identifies the current version.
